First Impressions:
Out of the box, the sausage boudin noir putter arrived with exceptional presentation. Immediately, the quality struck me. The black pistol grip is sleek, reminiscent of the Scotty Cameron Pistolini. Paired with a 120 gram steel shaft and a blacked out mallet style head, the aesthetics are bold. The alignment aids are a standout feature: a white line mirrors the front edge, a single dot sits behind it, and a perpendicular white line provides a visual anchor. This striking black and white contrast is not only bold but incredibly effective for alignment.
Tech:
This putter is truly innovative. It offers a level of customisation never seen in putters before. Using a series of screws and inserts, the user can adjust the shaft, transforming it from a centre shafted design to a traditional heel shafted setup. It’s versatile: left and right handed options are included, with three or four configurations possible. A torque wrench is provided so you can adjust the shaft angle precisely, and even switch it to left handed use if desired. The feel is sublime: a milled face delivers one of the softest impacts I’ve ever felt. The alignment aids, combined with that bold black and white aesthetic, give a visual confidence that is hard to beat.
Who Is It For:
In the modern golf landscape, especially on tour mallet putters are dominating. In fact, 100% of the world’s top 10 players and 80% of all professional golfers now use mallets. This putter aligns perfectly with that trend. Its mallet style head provides more ball speed and consistency, especially on off centre strikes. That’s crucial for lag putting and distance control. Plus, the customisation, adjusting the shaft, choosing left or right handed means it fits a wide range of golfers. The bold alignment cues make every putt easier to square up, and the premium finish gives it a real sleek look.
Summary:
Overall, this is a fantastic putter. The only drawback is the price at £390, which is certainly at the top end of the putter market. But if you can invest, the customisation is unmatched. The stealthy black design is a real head turner both in the bag and on the green and the milled face delivers one of the softest feels I’ve encountered. If you’re seeking a mallet putter that offers next level customisation, this is one you need to try.
